The Winston Wire is a digital news magazine created by students in Dr. W. Russell Robison’s Digital Media Writing class at Winston-Salem State University. This platform allows Communication and Media Studies majors to develop their reporting and writing skills while gaining valuable real-world experience. Students engage in every aspect of news production, from writing and editing to researching and publishing, all while gaining a deeper understanding of how a newsroom functions. The Winston Wire is a hands-on learning space where students can apply classroom lessons to real-world media environments.
